We’re Tjarda Gihaux and Ronald van Willigenburg, and we’d love to introduce ourselves. In early 2022, we made the big move from the Netherlands, to the serene landscapes of Jämtland, Sweden, along with our two children. While we cherished our time in the Netherlands, we were seeking more peace, space, and freedom—and we found it all here in beautiful Jämtland.

Jämtland, particularly the areas around Bräcke and Gällö, has captivated us with its natural beauty and tranquil lifestyle. The region is known for its breathtaking landscapes, with vast forests, pristine lakes, and rolling hills that stretch as far as the eye can see. The skies here seem to go on forever, offering a stunning backdrop for the unspoiled nature that surrounds us.

Bräcke, where we’ve settled, are the heart of this wilderness. These small, welcoming communities are filled with friendly people who take pride in their environment, culture, and traditions. The authenticity of life here is refreshing, with a deep connection to nature that’s evident in everything from the local cuisine to the many outdoor activities available.
