Experience the Charm of Stuga Bergvik

Welcome to Stuga Bergvik, a cosy traditional Swedish holiday cottage in the peaceful countryside of Jämtland, near Gällö. Just a five-minute walk from Revsundssjön and a small beach, it is a lovely place to relax, enjoy nature and get away from the busy pace of everyday life.

The cottage comfortably accommodates two guests and offers a cosy base for enjoying the area throughout the year. From May through the end of August, the small adjoining cottage is also open and provides sleeping space for two additional guests. As this additional bedroom is not heated, it is closed during the colder months.

A Cosy Cottage Throughout the Year

Stuga Bergvik is suitable for stays in every season. The cottage has electricity, hot and cold water, an ecological dry toilet, a wood-burning stove and electric heaters. Drinking water comes from our own well, approximately 120 metres deep. Despite the filtration system, the water can sometimes have a slight smell of iron, which is quite common in parts of Jämtland. The water is safe to drink.

On cooler days, you can light the wood-burning stove and enjoy the warmth and cosy atmosphere of a traditional Swedish cottage.

Spring

As winter slowly gives way to spring, the days become longer and nature starts to wake up. The snow melts, the forests turn green and the countryside becomes increasingly lively.

Spring is a peaceful time to explore the area, take walks through the forest, enjoy the changing landscape and spend time by Revsundssjön.

Summer

Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the lake and the surrounding countryside. Revsundssjön and the small beach are just a five-minute walk from the cottage.

You can go swimming, fishing, explore the forest, pick berries or simply relax on the terrace and enjoy the long Swedish summer evenings.

A basic fishing set is available at the cottage, or you can bring your own fishing equipment.

From May through the end of August, the adjoining cottage is also open, allowing up to four guests to stay together.

Autumn

Autumn brings beautiful colours to the forests around Stuga Bergvik. The air becomes crisp and the countryside becomes quieter, making it a lovely season for a peaceful getaway.

It is a great time for walks, fishing, exploring the forest and picking berries. You can also simply enjoy the changing colours from the cottage and relax by the warmth of the wood-burning stove.

Winter

In winter, Jämtland is transformed into a beautiful snowy landscape. The colder months are perfect for experiencing the peaceful Swedish winter and enjoying outdoor activities in the surrounding area.

Cross-country skiing, ice fishing and other winter activities can be enjoyed in the region. After a day outside, return to the cottage, light the wood-burning stove and enjoy a warm and cosy evening.

TV and Internet

The cottage has a flat-screen TV with a few free-to-air TV channels. You can also connect your phone to the TV and watch services such as Netflix or YouTube.

There is no WiFi at the cottage, but you can use the mobile data connection on your phone for internet access. If you are visiting from another country, this means using data roaming.

Please check with your mobile provider whether roaming is included in your subscription and whether additional charges may apply.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Outside, there is a terrace with four outdoor chairs where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can also have a barbecue or take a short walk down to the beach, where you will find a picnic table.

During the berry season, you are welcome to pick berries in the nearby forest using the berry picker and bucket provided at the cottage.

Getting Here

Getting to Stuga Bergvik is easy by car from both Sundsvall and Östersund. If you are travelling by air, you can fly to Östersund and rent a car there.

Gällö is less than a 10-minute drive away. Here you will find a supermarket, a train station on the Mittbanan railway line and the Mickelbacken ski slope.

Östersund is approximately 45 minutes away by car. The city offers around 300 shops and about 50 restaurants and bars.

Whatever time of year you visit, there is always something to enjoy around Stuga Bergvik. Spend summer days swimming and fishing at Revsundssjön, explore the colourful forests in autumn, enjoy the fresh air and longer days of spring, or experience the quiet beauty of a snowy Swedish winter.

And sometimes the best part of a holiday is simply slowing down. Sit on the terrace with a cup of coffee, enjoy the view, listen to the sounds of nature and take a break from everyday life.
